NICE — Ergonomic Utensil for Elders
NICE is an ergonomic utensil handle designed for elderly users with limited hand mobility. A topographic, contour-layered grip slides onto standard disposable spoons and knives, transforming a thin plastic handle into a thick, comfortable, secure hold — presented with dimensioned technical drawings alongside lifestyle and studio renders.

NICE started from a simple observation: the people who most need to feed themselves with dignity are often handed the flimsiest, least graspable tools. I wanted the handle to read as inviting rather than medical, so I leaned into those stacked topographic contours. Drawing every dimension by hand next to the polished renders kept me honest about manufacturability while still communicating the comfort I was chasing.
