Koliar — AR Dinosaur Card Game
Koliar is an augmented-reality dinosaur card game that lets children scan physical collectible cards to summon and explore life-like 3D dinosaurs through their phone. Developed with Jungsoo Lee around a children’s-education thesis, it pairs a tangible card system and retail packaging with an AR app, turning paleontology facts into a hands-on learning experience.

Koliar started from a real problem I researched hard: early-childhood education is racing toward screens and AR-driven tools, and I wanted to meet kids where their curiosity already is — dinosaurs. The design challenge was bridging the physical and digital so a paper card and a phone feel like one toy, not two products. It taught me that the most convincing game design often happens at the seam between an object you can hold and the world that springs out of it.
