The Idea
Where it all started
A short film on the importance of conserving Earth’s natural systems and resources, made early in my filmmaking practice. Created for the American Geosciences Institute’s Earth Science Week video contest, it connects everyday environmental stewardship to the broader geosciences.

Reflection
Conserving Planet Earth was one of my earliest films, and it’s where I first realized I could use video to advocate for the planet. Working within AGI’s Earth Science Week contest grounded the project in real earth-science thinking and showed me how science and storytelling can reinforce each other. Looking back, it set the foundation for nearly everything I made afterward about the environment — and taught me, early on, that conservation is a story worth telling again and again.
