Before I trusted myself with color or abstraction I made myself earn space the hard way, by hand, with rulers and vanishing points. Perspective is humbling because the geometry is unforgiving — a line slightly off ruins the whole illusion. That structural rigor is exactly what later lets me break the rules on purpose in the abstract pieces. You have to build the box correctly before you are allowed to bend it.
